Otolaryngology Grand Rounds

Otolaryngology Grand Rounds are held from 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Wednesdays in Auditorium C of the Margaret McCormick Doisy Learning Resource Center, located at 3545 Vista Avenue in St. 浪花直播, Missouri.

Grand Rounds

Wednesday, 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Grand round lectures are given by faculty, residents, and guest speakers from Otolaryngology and related specialties.

M&M Conference

Wednesday, 7:00-8:30 a.m.

The purpose of the bi-monthly morbidity and mortality conference is to encourage quality improvement within the department. The residents present relevant cases from Saint 浪花直播 University Hospital and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. Emphasis is on teaching, avoidance of complications, and improving patient care. This conference is open to academic faculty, residents and medical students only.

Teaching Conference

Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 a.m.

The teaching conferences, held three times per month, are for faculty and residents to present unusual, complex or otherwise noteworthy cases and topics, followed by an informal discussion. Teaching conferences encourage the development of cognitive skills for the assessment and management of various disease processes.

Book Club

Friday, 7:00-8:00 a.m.

Book club focuses on the systematic review of a selected major text of otolaryngology. Over a one- to two-year period, all chapters within the selected text are discussed. This conference is coordinated by the chief residents.

Tumor Board Conference

Tuesday, 7:00-8:00 a.m.

This multidisciplinary conference includes specialists from Otolaryngology, Radiology, Pathology, Medical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology. PGY2s present head and neck cancer cases to determine TNM staging, develop multidisciplinary treatment plans, and assess patient status. All patient information discussed at this conference is reported to The American Cancer Society.

Journal Club
 Monthly

Journal club is a faculty led discussion providing an opportunity for critical review of current otolaryngology literature.
Temporal Bone Lab
Cadaver temporal bone dissections led by Otology faculty.
