Community Engagement

It’s no wonder that we’ve been on the prestigious President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll since the listing began in 2006. We’re always asking ourselves what else we must do for — and with — our neighbors.

Three students are shown in profile, wearing aprons, working with bread on a kitchen counter.

Here, service transforms student volunteers into lifelong servant leaders and advocates of social justice.

Center for Social Action

Serving as the bridge between SLU volunteers and the community, The Center for Social Action aims to prepare participants to be effective servant leaders and agents for social change. The center also oversees campus-wide service efforts.
