M.S.N.-NP and Post-Master's NP Certificate Program Resources

The following information will facilitate your progression through Saint ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ University's M.S.N.-NP and post-master's NP certificate programs.

We also encourage you to refer to the student handbook for these programs. Please note that general student rules and regulations in place at SLU apply unless superseded by policies of the Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing.  Please also review our preceptor requirements and clinical requirements and acquire your SLU student ID badge, which will serve as your photo ID.

MSN-NP and Post-Master's NP certificate graduates, if interested and in good academic standing, can move directly into one of two doctoral programs, the clinical-based Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), or the research-based Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).

Tuition and Additional Costs

All students in the M.S.N.-NP and post-master's certificate program have the following additional costs:

  • Testing costs by Proctor U: (Approximately $230) Payment by student is due when exams are scheduled.
  • Software for Typhon (patient visit documentation): ($100) This is a one-time fee due when you register for the first clinical course.
  • CastleBranch Registration: ($35)

Electronic Log Fee - Nurse Practitioner Program

SLU's nurse practitioner students are required to use an electronic log system and are responsible for paying fees associated with the purchase of this log.

Online Test Proctoring

SLU's nurse practitioner students are required to use an online test-proctoring service to take exams in NURS 517, NURS 508, NURS 511, and the advanced clinical studies classes. Students are responsible for paying fees associated with the use of this service.

Graduates of the Master of Science in Nursing – Nurse Practitioner degree and Post Master of Science in Nursing – Nurse Practitioner Certificate programs are educated to:
