Members of the division are actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents, as well as students in disciplines such as nursing, allied health (physician assistants) and respiratory therapy. We also provide continuing medical education (CME) programs locally and nationally.
An active clinical research program is an integral part of the activities of the division and includes work in sleep disorders, asthma and cystic fibrosis. Members of the division have active leadership roles in administrative responsibilities for SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Saint 浪花直播 University and national organizations including the , , the , and the .
Clinical Services
Our division has an active outpatient program with multidisciplinary clinics caring for children with cystic fibrosis, asthma, sleep disorders, and for children who are dependent on technology (e.g., children receiving home mechanical ventilation). In addition, children with more routine pulmonary disorders are seen as outpatient consultations.
Our division has also expanded outpatient services to help coordinate care for children with medical complexity (including those in need of tracheostomy support and mechanical ventilation) through the Complex Medical Care Program.
