- The soprano Anne McMillan has performed extensively throughout the United States and
Europe. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Anne won her first singing award when she was
sixteen years old at the St. Paul Schubert Club. She attended the Tanglewood Music
Festival where she worked with Seiji Ozawa, Leonard Bernstein, and Phyllis Curtain.
She began her operatic career with the Minnesota and San Diego Opera, and has sung
principal roles in many operas, such as Manon, L'elisir d'amore, Così fan tutte, La Bohème and Romeo et Juliette.
- Anne has sung in major theaters throughout Spain, including the Teatro Real de Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu and Teatro Arriaga. She was section leader and soprano in the chorus of the Teatro Real for fourteen
years and participated in their opera outreach program for children, singing in The Marriage of Figaro and The Little Sweep. In 2011-12 she toured Belgium, Holland and Germany performing in the Teatro Real’s
production of C(h)oeurs, an avant-garde work directed by Alain Platel. She has performed with world class
conductors such as Christopher Hogwood and Jesús López-Cobos, stage directors Emilio
Sagi and Peter Sellars, and renowned singers such as Plácido Domingo, Edita Gruberova
and Joyce Di Donato.
- An accomplished recitalist and concert soloist, Anne toured Spain with the Camerata Pro Arte singing Mozart arias and Exultate Jubilate. She sang in the Chamber Music series at the Teatro Real: Boccherini's Stabat Mater and Respighi's Il Tramonto. Other highlights of her career include performances of Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation, Brahms' Requiem, Fauré's Requiem, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Bach's St. Matthew Passion, St. John’s Passion and the B Minor Mass.
