COVID-19 Update March 25
Dear members of the Saint 浪花直播 University community,
As COVID-19 extends its reach deeper into our University and the broader St. 浪花直播 community, we know our faculty, staff and students have concerns about themselves and their loved ones. I want to remind you that we share in your concern, and frankly, your anxiety.
I want to use today鈥檚 campus update to remind you of the resources available for SLU students, faculty, staff, and clinicians. In addition to the resources below, you can and should contact your primary care provider if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. If you are experiencing any medical emergency, always call 911.
Student Resources
SLU鈥檚 Student Health Center (SHC) is available for phone screenings at any time by calling 314-977-2323 (nurses are available on-call after hours). Remember that the Student Health Center is not accepting walk-in patients at this time. Students should call first.
The center is also able to provide telehealth appointments for students living in Missouri, regardless of whether you鈥檙e currently living on campus.
If you live on campus and are exhibiting any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, call the SHC immediately. They can help guide you and coordinate your care.
If you live off campus, or out of state, and you have tested positive for COVID-19, please let our Student Health Center know. The information you provide will be maintained within the Student Health Center as treatment records and kept confidential. Our SHC team is prepared to be a resource for you and your family.
We know that many students have questions no matter where they are living. You can always call 314-977-2323, or email shc@health.slu.edu, and someone will get back to you.
Resources for faculty, staff and clinicians
The Office of Employee Health is available to offer guidance and phone screenings to all of our employees.
All faculty, staff and clinicians must contact the Office of Employee Health by calling 314-268-5499 or emailing employeehealth@health.slu.edu if you are exhibiting signs of COVID-19, or if you are under self-quarantine due to possible or confirmed exposure. The information you provide is personal health information and it will be kept confidential.
Public health monitoring of our fight against this virus will inform us of spread, hot spots and recoveries. Additionally, it helps guide what responses are necessary from our infectious disease experts and public health authorities.
I want to take a moment to share my thanks for the compassionate service of physicians, nurses, medical assistants and others who are on the Employee Health team. We owe you a debt of gratitude for your service.
In order to provide support to you and your loved ones, our University leadership team asks that both the Student Health Center and Employee Health staff members check in with those whom we know might be affected by COVID-19.
As we look to center ourselves in faith during these difficult times, I want to share another resource. The St. Jean de Brebeuf Jesuit Community here in St. 浪花直播 where they will livestream Mass celebrations at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 9 a.m. on Saturday and at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Additionally, St. Francis Xavier College Church is livestreaming its 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass on the .
Each of you matters to us. We are OneSLU.
God bless you, your families, and Saint 浪花直播 University.
Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D.
